Hey guys! This is a different post than I'm sure most of you are used to, but I wanted to announce that I have helped create the first Newsletter for the Economics and Finance Society at West Chester University! I was the Newsletter Director for this edition (and the future ones to come) so I helped guide these other members and helped them to write their own articles/designed the template. This edition highlights the research, analysis, and insights produced by our own EFS members. And yet, it is one of the most important things you will ever have in your adult life! Use it wrong, and you will be eternally in debt and be very limited financially. Is Space the Economic Frontier?

By  Oliver Rahman TO THE MOON! Space is something we all thought of as a kid. We all dreamed of moon bases and trips to mars when we grow up. Sadly, there seems to be a lack of that currently, but not for long!  According to McKinsey & Company, the space industry could be worth $1.8 trillion by 2035 .  NASA's programs like Artemis (which aims to land someone on the moon AND create a moon base by 2030) and SpaceX's plan for mars in the next decade show an newfound interest by the government and private companies to go to space in the near future. By 2035 we could potentially have bases on the Moon and Mars with dozens of people on each, which also means a new lucrative market could emerge.  The main growth for the space economy, currently, is the greater need for connectivity with satellites. They can be a useful tool to hedge bets and make money or the downfall of your entire portfolio. However, TRULY understanding options is a bit difficult considering there are more factors than just stock down=bad stock up=good. There are many types of option contracts in the investment world, but for this simple article, I will only be explaining the two most popular ones: calls and puts. So, what's an option?
